Colt Transitional Model 1911, Made in 1924 with Colt Letter, 1 of 10,000 Made

Colt Transition Model 1911, made in 1924. One of Ten Thousand transition models made. According to Colt, the transition model had many of the upcoming 1911A1 features incorporated into the model. Finish is good for its age and does appear original. All parts appear to be original. Has wood grips with appropriate wear, grips screws have finish wear consistent with being carried in a holster. The “United States Property” has been partially ground off on the right side. Unfortunately, not uncommon to the military pistols. Barrel is HP marked. Rear of slide does not have the serial number stamped, that started later. Over-all this is a nice collector piece that needs no apologies! Again, another blue-chip collectible firearm! Rare and fine firearms have proven to be a good investment over the years, and show no signs of slowing! Includes Colt letter, and a nice reproduction Kraft box.
