Colt 1911 Kit Gun, Made in 1965. These were primarily used by the AMU – Army Marksmanship Unit – though some were sold to retailers. This one was sent to “Irv’s Sport Shop” in Inkster Michigan, then finished by an unknown pistol-smith. This pistol is gorgeous, with a deep blue finish. Trigger is crisp and light. The front strap is stippled, and rear mainspring housing is arched, with stock vertical grooves. A Bomar type full-length sight sits on top of the slide. The internals show no real signs of wear. The slide bushing to barrel locks up nice and snug, sure to make for accurate shooting! Has very nice walnut stocks, which show little signs of handling. See the pictures!
